The Champion GSE Company, a subsidiary of the DEDIENNE Group, is a growing manufacturer of transport containers and industrial ground support equipment serving aerospace and industrial markets.
To support continued expansion in the United States, we are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented TECHNICAL BUYER join our Procurement Team at our Ohio manufacturing site.

The Technical Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring technical products, components, and services in compliance with quality, cost, and delivery objectives. This role acts as an interface between engineering, production, quality, and suppliers to ensure technical conformity and supply chain performance.

key responsibilities

1. Source and purchase technical components, tooling, equipment, and services according to technical specifications and drawings
2. Analyze bills of materials (BOM), technical documentation, and engineering requirements
3. Identify, qualify, and manage suppliers in accordance with company and regulatory standards
4. Prepare and issue RFQs, analyze technical and commercial offers, and conduct negotiations
5. Ensure supplier compliance with contractual, technical, and quality requirements
6. Manage procurement data within ERP/MRP systems
7. Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and production teams
8. Support make-or-buy decisions and contribute to cost-reduction initiatives
9. Manage supplier non-conformities in coordination with quality and engineering teams
10. Ensure compliance with export control, contractual, and internal procedures

QUALITY & EXPERIENCE

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Supply Chain, Industrial Management, or equivalent degree is a plus.
2. 3–5 years of experience in technical procurement, ideally in aerospace, automotive, or industrial manufacturing
3. Strong ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
4. Experience negotiating technical and commercial contracts
5. Knowledge of manufacturing processes (machining, composites, sheet metal, treatments, etc.) able to quickly run a cost analysis to challenge vendor quotes.
6. Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, SAGE or equivalent)

5. Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel skills preferred
6. Fluency in English required; additional languages are a plus
