Tooling Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and Development: Tooling Design Engineers create detailed designs for tools, dies,      molds, and fixtures using CAD software. They ensure that these designs meet production            requirements and industry standards. 

2. Collaboration: They work closely with production teams, quality assurance, and other                 engineering departments to ensure that the tools are efficient, reliable, and capable of producing high-quality products. 

3. Testing and Validation: Tooling Engineers conduct tests and simulations to evaluate the            performance of their designs. They may also be involved in troubleshooting and providing            ongoing support during the manufacturing process. 

4. Project Management: They manage tooling projects from conception to completion, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and adherence to specifications. 

5. Continuous Improvement: Tooling Design Engineers are responsible for optimizing existing toos and processes to enhance productivity and reduce costs. They analyze performance data and     implement improvements as necessary. 

6. Documentation: They maintain accurate records of designs, specifications, and testing results,   ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards such as ISO 9001. 

Skills and Qualifications

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is      typically required.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and a strong understanding of manufacturing        processes and materials are essential. 

• Problem-Solving Abilities: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial for identifying issues and developing effective solutions. 

• Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are necessary for             collaborating with various teams and presenting proposals.
